Raven Cliff Waterfalls is at an estimated 420 feet. Matthews Creek plunges off Raven Cliff Mountain at the Blue Ridge Escarpment. The escarpment is where the Blue Ridge Mountains drop abruptly 2,000 feet to the Piedmont below. This 4.4-mile roundtrip trail leads to an overlook across the gorge from the falls (hike is moderately difficult). When you reach a set of stairs on this trail, you are near the halfway point. When you reach the shelter, turn left to begin the final .75 mile descent to the overlook. There is a platform below the falls for viewing Raven Cliff Falls. Or you may enjoy the falls from the swinging bridge that sits in front of the falls. Either one you choose has spectacular views.
Sliding Rock a 60-foot waterfall is a natural slide down the smooth rock face into a pool of clear, fresh spring water. Sliding Rock has the benefit of lifeguards from Memorial Day to Labor Day; with changing rooms and bathrooms are open to the public. Bring towels, a change of clothes and a camera.The water from the mountain stream is cold! Sliding Rock is an exciting explore, plan a stop at Solitude Pointe.
WildCat Falls is popular to visit because of the beautiful falls. It is located alongside SC 11 a two mile drive from Solitude Pointe. There is a 10-foot free fall of water, with formations of rocks that make the water flow at a unique pace. The total height of all three sections of this waterfall has been estimated at up to 175 feet.
